My interior design is art based.  I have a degree in art, am a painter, and have a strong sense about what makes a good composition/interior design.  I have been a designer for over 20 years, which gives me a wealth of experience to draw on.  I have assisted homeowners, builders and architects.   My projects have ranged from family homes to the Australian Consulate.  I have designed the interior of churches and a retreat center for 300.

Calico Corners and Closet World both of which enhanced my design skills have recently employed me.

My special asset is my color system.  I base it on the four seasons and it is similar to the seasons used for wardrobe color assistance.  Each season has its own unique set of neutrals, main colors, and punch colors.  Half of the colors are cool, blue, silver and the half are warm, yellow and gold based.  For instance, the autumns are warm with gold undertones and they have names like pumpkin, coffee, olive, and mustard.  The red for this group is paprika.  Many people use these colors today because they are the colors found in most wood floors.  I also believe Starbucks and the autumn color schemes in their stores influence them.  An example of the cool colors would be a seaside home that would use colors like sky blue, rose beige, and forest green.  The red for this group would be burgundy.  Once we have determined the proper color family and a general style we are on our way to creating a cohesive design.
